Diego Sáez Ibarzábal founded Inlucem Architectural Lighting Design in 2014.
He graduated in Architecture from ETSAM, Technical University of Madrid, Spain, in 2006, and later completed a Master in Architectural Lighting at the same school in 2010.
Diego brings together two complementary disciplines that rarely operate as one.
His work integrates architectural intention with technical precision, ensuring that lighting is never an afterthought but a fundamental layer of spatial design.
His understanding of construction began much earlier. Growing up as the son of a Civil Engineer who ran an electrical and lighting company for over 30 years, Diego developed an early awareness of how design meets reality on site. Working as an electrician during his summers gave him first-hand experience of installation challenges, coordination with trades, and the practical constraints that shape every project.
This background defines his approach today.
Every lighting solution is delivered with the vision of an Architect, the knowledge of a specialised Lighting Designer, and the practical eye of an experienced electrician who understands what it takes to make design work on site.
